The Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) is a start-of-the-science model, whose development is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The research objective of E3SM is to improve predictive understanding of Earth system processes, specifically related to the water cycle, biogeochemical cycle, and cryosphere.
